About South Dakota, Territorial Census, This database is an index to the census of South Dakota Territory in (Rolls and ). The database is particularly important due to the absence of a federal census in In accordance with this act, censuses were taken in in the states of Florida, Nebraska, Colorado, and in the territories of New Mexico and Dakota.
With the exception of the Dakota Territory census, all copies were transferred to the National Archives in The Black Hawk Mill, ca. in Colorado. The census date for was June 1st. The census date for the and cenuses was April 1st.
